    Schweizer / SGS 2-8 two-place sailplane

    Glider Reg. Number: N10VV

    1941

    Design & Development

The shoulder-type wings are braced with single streamlined struts which result in simplicity and ease of assembly. The fuselage is made of welded steel tubing. The fuselage, tail surfaces and rear portion of wing are fabric-covered. The horizontal surfaces are cantilever and are damped for stability and hands-off flying.  The cabins are completely enclosed with pyralin.  Removable and hinged portion of the cowl make getting in and out easy.  The front instruments are visible from the rear seat, although a rear instrument panel is provided. Bucket seats with room for back or seat pack parachutes are installed in both cockpits.
