Museum volunteers fulfill an important role at the NSM. As a non-profit organization, the Museum depends on volunteers to help staff conduct tours, do research, organize meetings, and perform maintenance or restoration on our exhibits and aircraft. Museum volunteers can fill the gap and assist in many ways. Being an NSM volunteer is not only a wonderful introduction to soaring and a way to meet some fascinating people, but also a great opportunity to help promote Elmira and the region. It is a fun way to help invest in your community. Believe it or not, nearly half of our visitors reside within 50 miles of the Museum.
