Are you interested in experiencing soaring first-hand? Take a sailplane ride on Harris Hill! The National Soaring Museum sells sailplane ride gift certificates on behalf of Harris Hill Soaring Corporation and can be ordered via phone at (607) 734-3128, or in person in our Windrider Gift Shop.
Pricing:
The high-performance sailplane provides a smoother ride with a more relaxed seating position and is an excellent choice for people who are taking a ride as a one-time experience. If you are thinking about learning to fly gliders, you may want to ride in the Schweizer 2-33; this is the type used for training.
Harris Hill Soaring Corporation offers rides 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends from April through October; from late June through August they are open 7 days a week. The certificates do not expire and rides are given on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please call ahead on the day you wish to fly; the sport of soaring is very weather-dependent. The ride lasts approximately 15-20 minutes, not including prep time. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the experience!
