To all soaring enthusiasts and friends:

You are cordially invited to a reunion, a party, and the dedication of the newest National Landmark of Soaring.

Mount Washington, New Hampshire is a truly historic soaring site. It was here that Lewin Barringer made the first
wave flight in the United States, in 1938. Throughout the years, glider pilots have come to Mount Washington to
pursue and develop the unique activity known as wave soaring.

Twenty-five years ago, The National Soaring Museum established the National Landmark of Soaring program for the
purpose of recognizing sites, individuals, and events of significance in the history of motorless flight in the United
States. On May 14, 2005 the NSM Trustees voted to designate Mount Washington, New Hampshire as the 14th
National Landmark of Soaring.

The Landmark will be dedicated at 6:00 pm, October 8, 2005 at the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton
Woods, New Hampshire.
Associated with the dedication will be several activities at the Resort and in the
surrounding area. You are invited to come as early as you like to enjoy a fall day in New Hampshire and participate
in the gliding- and landmark-related activities at the Resort, which is a national landmark in its own right.

During the day there will be gliders on display, a glider landing, and, of course, plenty of opportunity to reminisce
about the Mount Washington wave camps. There will also be a special event Post Office which will cancel mail using
a commemorative postmark designed for the occasion.

The dedication will take place at 6:00 pm in the Grand Ballroom, beginning with a buffet dinner (for which a $15
contribution is requested). The dedication will take place under the auspices of the National Soaring Museum and will
feature speakers from the Museum, the Soaring Society of America, and the original Mount Washington Soaring
Association.  Our keynote speaker will be Walter Cannon, NSM Trustee and Mount Washington wave soaring
pioneer.
