No.5 -- Torrey Pines, San Diego, California

6 June 1992

This site was chosen to honor the spirit, ingenuity and enthusiasm of the pioneers who flew gliders in the 1930s at Torrey Pines. The dedication also serves to honor future pilots who will share the glider port and continue its tradition through all forms of motorless flight. [References]
