The National Soaring Museum and The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes announce "Glide", an exhibition of soaring-related art. The exhibition, which will include painting, photography and digital art, features the work of Vani Satya P. Akula, Bridget Bossart Van Otterloo, Jason Cox, Melissa Groo, Sandra Lowe, Vickie Mike, Lin Price, Nancy Ridenour, Tom Tunicliff, Ann Welles, A.D. Wheeler, and Scott Wise.
The exhibit was curated by Ginnie Lupi, director of The ARTS Council. "There are many ways to interpret the word 'glide'", Lupi said. "The work in this exhibit ranges from literal images of gliders to figurative, abstract and fantastical ideas. I encourage everyone to see the show!"
The exhibit will be on view at the National Soaring Museum, Harris Hill, Elmira, from January 28 - February 18. An opening reception will be held on Saturday January 28, from 2 - 4pm (snow date February 4). The reception is free and open to the public.

June 30th - July 7th, 2012
The International Vintage Sailplane Meet 2012 will bring together some of the best examples of historic gliders and sailplanes in the world. Highlighted by the “Zanonia” (the glider illustrated on our poster), the sailplanes will be displayed on the ground and, in many cases, in the air from June 30 to July 7.
