Eileen Collins Aerospace Camp

July 7 -11 for Boys, July 14-18 for Girls

Age: 9 - 14

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, with an overnight on Thursday

Price: $400, scholarships available

This camp is limited to 30 campers each week.

Description: For nearly twenty years, students have gathered at the National Soaring Museum for the Eileen Collins Aerospace Camp. At ECAC, every camper will have the opportunity to soar above Harris Hill in a glider and fly in a Cessna.  Students will also learn about the science and history of aviation and aerospace when they participate in a simulated “Mission to Mars” at the Rochester Challenger Center, launch rockets, visit museums, build wing ribs and kites, and more! This is a day camp with one overnight.

An Introduction to Summer Soaring

July 28 – August 1

Age: 8 - 12

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Cost: $150, scholarships available through GST BOCES.

This camp is limited to 15 campers.


Description: Are you interested in flight? Come fly with us! Join us at the National Soaring Museum and soar above the valleys surrounding Harris Hill in a glider. During this week, campers will learn about the science and history of aviation through a variety of activities, including: building a model wing rib the Wright Brothers used in their 1911 glider, experimenting with the forces of flight and putting your design skills to the test using our 3-D printer. The week is capped off with a glider ride over Harris Hill, provided by a certified commercial pilot from the Harris Hill Soaring Corporation.
